Peniscola<\/h1>\n

We love the old town in Peniscola in the Castellon province of Valencia, up by the castle, with its narrow pebbled streets, colourful souvenir and craft shops, quaint buildings, etc.<\/p>\n

We have twice stayed at Dios Esta Bien<\/a> a lovely small hotel in the old town. It has recently changed hands, and when we tried to book this time, you had to stay a minimum of two nights and although we like Peniscola, it’s a small place and we feel that one night is enough.<\/p>\n

This time we stayed at Pension Chiki<\/a>. It’s located centrally in the old town, and is a restaurant with a guest house attached. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the owner was very friendly.<\/p>\n

There are quite a lot of restaurants in Pe\u00f1\u00edscola but we haven’t found anywhere yet that we like enough to go back to.\u00a0 We struggled to find somewhere to have our main meal, finally settling on La Lanterna Italian which was very popular.\u00a0 The service was very friendly, but the food extremely average.<\/p>\n

We did find a lovely cute bar called Boca Cielo and enjoyed a nice plate of nachos and a glass of cava there.\u00a0 Most people seemed to be just having drinks, but they do some other snacks like burritos and patatas bravas.<\/p>\n
